What is ICANN?

ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) is the authority responsible for the management of the domain name system. ICANN manages domain names and IP addresses, ensuring that when you type in a web address, your browser gets directed to the correct website. They are also responsible for the accreditation of domain registrars, such as Openprovider, and for the approval and launch of new TLDs.

You can imagine ICANN as the traffic manager of the internet. Just like how a traffic manager ensures smooth and orderly movement on roads, ICANN oversees the allocation and management of domain names and IP addresses to ensure the internet operates efficiently and securely.
