What is the EPP Code?
The EPP code, short for Extensible Provisioning Protocol and also often referred to as Domain Transfer Authorization Code, is a standardized protocol used in the domain name industry to facilitate the secure transfer of domain names between registrars. This unique identifier is required for initiating a domain transfer process and verifies ownership of the domain.
When a domain owner wants to transfer their domain to a new registrar, they must request the EPP code from their current registrar. This code is then provided to the new registrar to authorize the transfer process, preventing unauthorized transfers and protecting against domain hijacking.
