What is Typosquatting?

Typosquatting, or URL hijacking, is a phenomenon in which malicious actors create websites with slight misspellings of popular domain names to deceive users. This exploits common typos made while typing a web address. Typosquatted URLs are also often used in email scams.

Example: Imagine intending to visit "google.com," but mistakenly typing "goggle.com." Typosquatters may own the latter domain, replicating the legitimate site's appearance. Unsuspecting users, unaware of the error, might enter personal information, falling victim to scams or malware.
