.org impact awards

Public Interest Registry (PIR), the registry behind .org, has opened up the nomination period for the seventh annual edition of the .ORG Impact Awards. Anyone now has the chance to nominate a .org domain of their choice. If your .org is picked as a finalist, you will have the chance of winning up to $50,000 to contribute to the non-profit associated with the domain. Nominations for the awards are open until May 27, 2026.

What are the .ORG Impact Awards?

The .ORG Impact Awards were introduced in 2019 as an annual event to celebrate .org domain owners and the charitable work they do. From small, grassroots organizations to multinational non-profits, the .ORG Impact Awards provide an excellent opportunity for .org owners to come together, network, raise funds and spread the word about their cause.

Over the past six years, the .ORG Impact Awards have recognized 300 outstanding .ORGs from over 120 countries and awarded $865,000 USD for transformative work happening globally. Preivous winners includes extraordinary innovators, global changemakers, and individuals that refuse to give up in their pursuit to make the world a better place. As the .ORG Community grows, these awards are also a way to connect mission-driven organizations and individuals – because real impact happens together.

This year, the .ORG Impact Awards will be held across 6 different categories. PIR will award a prize of $40,000 to the .org of the year, as well as a prize of $10,000 to the winners of each category (including the .org of the year, bringing their total to $50,000). In addition to this, all finalists will receive $2,500, as well as travel and accommodations for two representatives of each .org to attend the in-person award ceremony on October 6, 2026, in Washington, D.C.

How to nominate a .org domain

You can nominate your .org domain online through www.orgimpactawards.org. On the entry form, you will first be asked to select a category that best fits your .org. The categories are:

  • Health and Healing
  • Hunger and Poverty
  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
  • Quality Education for All
  • Environmental Stewardship
  • Community Building

You can find more information about these categories on the website of the .ORG Impact Awards.

After selecting a category, you will be asked to provide in-depth answers to various questions about your non-profit, including the challenge that it aims to solve and which steps it has taken to achieve this. You will also be required to submit up to five materials supporting the achievements of your non-profit. These may include project plans, web pages, reports, videos, testimonials, or other forms of evidence. Your entry should primarily be based on work and achievements that took place during the past year. If you need assistance, PIR offers tips and guidance on writing your entry on their website.

Submissions for the .ORG Impact Awards close on May 27, 2026. Finalists will be announced on August 11, 2026. The winners will be crowned during a live, in-person ceremony on October 6, 2026, to which all finalists are invited.
