Openprovider ISO 27001 certification upgrade

With security there is no finish line – but there are milestones.

To this end, Openprovider is proud to announce that we have upgraded our ISO/IEC 27001 certification to the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 standard.

ISO/IEC 27001 is the world’s best-known standard for information security management systems (ISMS) and this upgrade once again shows Openprovider’s commitment to providing a trusted digital identity for every business.

And, while ISO certification is not new at Openprovider, this latest recognition matters.

It shows that the organization is prepared to handle rapidly evolving security challenges through:

  • Enhanced data protection
  • Proactive risk management
  • Regulatory compliance
  • Operational excellence
  • Market differentiation in information security practices

“This update isn’t just about meeting a standard,” said Shreerang Gondegaonkar, Chief Technology Officer at Openprovider, “it’s about continuing to do what we’ve always believed in: putting our customers first. The updated framework brings sharper focus on risk management, stronger controls for cloud and supplier environments, and a better fit for how modern businesses operate. We see it as another step in strengthening the trust our customers place in us every day.”

With this certification upgrade we continue to embody another Openprovider value: putting customers at the heart of everything we do.

“For our customers, this means even greater assurance that the systems behind the services they rely on are secure, resilient, and built with long-term reliability in mind,” said Shreerang. “Security isn’t a checkbox for us – it’s part of how we operate, grow, and support every business that chooses to work with Openprovider.”

Best practices from the front lines

Achieving ISO/IEC 27001:2022 is a complex process, and Openprovider’s journey offers valuable insight for others navigating similar terrain.

We asked Prasad Fernando, Head of Development, to share his advice for companies working toward this goal.

Here are his three tips:

Company operational processes should be embedded in ISMS processes: Meaning, to conduct regular internal audits and management reviews to refine controls, use active dashboards to track ISMS performance and security incidents, and automate repetitive compliance tasks.

Always think about risk and do continuous risk assessment:
It’s important to develop a dynamic, continuously updated risk assessment process. Align risk treatment with business impact and legal/regulatory requirements. Engage cross-functional teams in identifying and evaluating risks and opportunities.

Ensure top management commitment to ISO 27001 compliance:
Company leadership should actively support and participate in the information security process. Integrate information security into the organization’s culture and daily operations. Assign clear roles and responsibilities across departments for information security.

Prasad’s recommendations highlight a fundamental truth about modern compliance: security must be built into the fabric of an organization; it is an ongoing process – not something that can be crammed at the last minute like an exam in school.

A trusted partner

The certification announcement has also resonated with Openprovider partners. On LinkedIn, Ryan van Brunschot, CEO of Unique Design wrote:

“Congratulations! We’re very happy with Openprovider as a partner, and this certification brings us one step closer to achieving our own ISO 27001 as well. Well deserved!”

It’s this kind of feedback that spurs us to continue offering top-tier security frameworks, as we did with this milestone. In fact, in a digital world where operational risk is serious, protecting ourselves is protecting our customers.

Never content to sit still, Openprovider is already working on the next few certifications. “We also want to be leaders in compliance,” said CEO Arno Vis.

In an age where digital threats evolve faster than ever, ISO/IEC 27001:2022 serves as a strategic differentiator – offering assurance to customers, partners, and regulators that a company’s digital foundations are not only secure but also aligned with international best practices.

In today’s environment, where technology is both an enabler and a threat vector, that kind of trust is priceless.

“This certification reflects our ongoing effort to do things the right way,” said Openprovider’s CTO, “and we’re proud to share this milestone with our team and our community.”
