Have you ever been curious to meet the people behind the domains? In this new series of blog posts, we are introducing you to various members of our global, fully remote team.

This week, we are introducing you to Mohit (23), who has been with Openprovider for two years. He started out as a 1st line engineer in our support team but made the switch to becoming a product manager last year.

Tell us something about yourself!

I am Mohit, product manager for Domains and DNS at Openprovider. I am 23 years old and I am based in Mumbai, India. I’ve been with the company for over two years now. As a product manager, I drive the development of Domains & DNS to be successful products for the company and to be on top of the industry.

What does an average day in your role look like?

A typical day in my role consists of many different tasks. Here are just a few of them: working with cross-functional teams to collect product needs and feedback, prioritization and management of the product backlog, analyzing market trends and competition, working with engineers and designers to develop and market new goods, communicating with stakeholders, product performance monitoring, data-driven decision making, and attending strategy and planning meetings!

Which achievement (of yourself, your team or the company) are you most proud of?

That’s hard to say because I’m learning every day. My team did win twice during our “pizza and quiz” events, does that count? 😉 One of the achievements I am proud of is the time when I managed to launch new integrations on time, while my fellow product manager Miquel was on a plane, on his way to a registry event.

What are your favorite things about working remotely? And is there something you like less about it?

Working remotely has its pros and cons. I love that I can work from my bed, that I don’t need to dress according to a formal dress code, and that it allows me to be close to my family and not lose track of day-to-day activities. On the other hand, you do get bored in the house sometimes, and I do miss meeting my colleagues physically and working in a corporate environment.

What do you like the most about working at Openprovider?

I like the culture at Openprovider the most. You get to work together with people from all walks of life and from many different countries, all to achieve a similar goal. I also enjoy the fun chats I get to have with colleagues and teammates, and our virtual events are the best!
