Big news: Openprovider is now an accredited .gr registrar! This means significantly lower prices and improved service for you and your customers.

What’s changing

• Price reduction: Starting on July 1st, .gr domain registrations are just €12.50 / 2-year term (down from €21.94).
• Official status: Hosting Concepts B.V. (the legal business name of Openprovider) will appear as the registrar in WHOIS records.
• New extensions: Besides .gr and its subdomains .com.gr, .net.gr, .org.gr and .edu.gr, you now get access to the Greek IDN – .ελ (xn--qxam).

Important information about existing .gr domains

Please note that existing .gr domains remain with our previous supplier and will continue to be billed at the current (old) pricing.

Why the delay? While .gr domain transfers are free of charge, the registry does not support an easy bulk transfer of all existing domains to our new accreditation. Each domain’s authcode must also be retrieved by the domain owner via email, making the process manual and intrusive. We’ll contact resellers with larger portfolios to explore transfer options together.

The good news: As of July 1st, the new pricing will be active for all new .gr registrations.  Transfers continue to remain free.
