Cloudflare Phishing Threats Report emphasizes the importance of online brand monitoring

Cloudflare is a global service provider active in fields such as website infrastructure and security, DDoS mitigation, and DNS support. In their 2023 Phishing Threats Report, they report that 36.5% of phishing attacks against companies involve email. Identity deception and business email compromises are some of the most common types of phishing attacks targeted at companies, with each leading to billions of dollars in losses every year. “Lookalike” domain names (e.g. openprovidr.com) pose a particularly high risk. Recommended steps to protect your brand against being abused by phishers include the use of trademark protective services and the implementation of DMARC.
